Perhaps after everything Hooper stays for a while, maybe while the authorities tidy up the legal side of everything, or while he's writing his next paper. Maybe they all get to coexist for a while. I love Ellen and am enamoured of making sure she isn't set aside, and would be interested to see how she deals with supporting her husband through the aftermath of this horrific experience but also how she deals with this other man who was there, who was funny and nice and brought her a bottle of wine, and who has now shared this with her husband in a way she can't imagine. I like to think they could all get through this together (and maybe fall in love about it).

Maybe Valentine reflects on how this started transactionally but doesn't need to stay that way, and she has to unpack how she feels about that while also realising that liking someone didn't feel like she thought it would; maybe they become partners in crime, girlbossing the hotel while catching feelings; or maybe they start sleeping together and never really stop until they realise, wait, have we been dating this whole time? I am so glad that the only people who escaped the bad timeline this series was these two lesbians, and I want them to have a happy ending.

So either Daniel lives, or he's a ghost, or he still dies, and we have to sit with Grace as she deals with that and a love or kinship that she gained and lost during approx. 15 minutes of the worse day of her life.
It's just, like, imagine that you've been betrayed by the person you loved; who sold you a lie, the lie of a family; who even if he hadn't killed you was going to make a murderer out of you some day. And then imagine that you realise that you're not alone in thinking this is all severely, severely fucked up. Grace would imprint on that man like a baby duck, but also challenge how reductively he thinks about everything. Maybe they use their inherited millions and buy several large dogs and also lots of therapy.

i love the martian!! and i loveee the crew of ares 3!! i would love to see more of them on earth, more of them on the ship, in space on the way to mars, in space on the way back (esp. if grief/mourning), in space on the way back to mars, in space on the way back to earth (again!)... i would love to see an au where mark actually does die, at any point in the timeline, and how that affects the crew going forward... i would love to see one where the mission just goes the way it's supposed to and everything is fine... i would LOVE to see one where someone ELSE is injured and left behind (and communicates with the crew eventually), just so many fun options throwing these characters into the pear wiggler!! i just want to see more of them together i never felt like it was enough in the book!!

17776 haunts my every waking moment. i LOVE it. the way that it tells you that even in the most desperate of circumstances, there is connection. that, even thousands of years after everything's been done, one of the biggest human activities is play. plus, i really like space probes and i love that they're humanized here! i love their distinct personalities and their friendship. and of course the horrible, awful isolation at the beginning - just a very fun angsty plot point. i love the worldbuilding and i love the characters and i would love to see absolutely anything you want to do with them or the world itself!! hooray!! i don't have specific prompts because i can't think of any, so just go for it, really :D

I LOVE MURPHY!!!!! i did not feel like she got enough screen time in the movie. i would like to see anything with her, but especially:
- her growing up without her dad, and how that affects her
- more of how she got to be where she was as an adult
- AU where cooper can send messages back through the wormhole
- how did she get from her 'eureka' moment to actually making it work?!?!?
- her raising her own kids - in space?? on an ever-more-deadly earth?? how does the loss of her own parents affect the way that she raises her own family?

So my entire basis for nominating/requesting this is that we were reading the Iliad and talking about the manuscript history and my professor said something along the lines of "Aristarchus always goes with the opposite of whatever Zenodotus does, he always picks the opposite reading." And that made me desperately curious about what Aristarchus might have thought of Zenodotus himself (since he has such a tendency to disagree violently with him), and what Zenodotus might have thought of Aristarchus' reactions to his work.
I know they weren't alive at the same time so I'd be perfectly happy with Aristarchus just thinking/talking about Zenodotus, but if you want to either change the timeline so that they could possibly meet or introduce some kind of time travel into the mix I would also enjoy that! (But please don't do a full modern AU.)

- what drives their differing approaches to the text? (lectio facilior vs lectio difficilior, etc)

I love everything about Gyula - I'd love to hear the story of where and how he learned any of the things he knows, including whatever digs he was on with Károly where he learned so much about the Iazyges! I'm also obsessed by how much he wants to just get shit done and how dedicated he is to changing things, even when Károly and the Professor try to talk him down, even when all the rest of them accept life as it is, he just never gives up. I'd love him to be narratively allowed to do the industrial revolution he dreams of :3 Maybe they all (or Gyula alone) time travels to earlier in history, when Mátyás was less constrained by war and necessity and had more time to deal with them? Of course Gyula alone would have difficulties of his own, since he's not exactly a historian, but he'd put his head down and get on with it I'm sure :D

I love this version of László - how his grief turns to anger turns to menace so fast when he's dealing with Ulrich and Ladislaus, how passionate he is with Maria, and how sweet he is with Matthias, coaxing him on that of course he'll find some girl who likes him someday :D He contains multitudes! I completely adore how he's so capable, and yet there's still that streak of impulsive overconfidence and that trust that leads him to disaster.
I'd love anything more about him - precanon fic with his parents? More about his relationship with Maria, or his relationship with Matthias? Or AU where he doesn't die (permanently) is also very welcome! Maybe he's imprisoned or banished (I always love a gay-marriage-disinheritance-AU)? I also love ghosts and other supernatural ways for people to not perma-die, as well as time travel! If you're continuing past the point where he dies, feel free to either follow the continuity of the series or go as divergent-AU as you'd like.
I will happily ship László with anyone except King Ladislaus or Ulrich and gen is of course always welcome.

There are so many just narratively fascinating stories in this bio that I'd love fic about! Tell me more about Matthias doing his own army's recon, getting captured, and talking himself out of it by pretending to be a local groom! Or what it was like for those months trapped alone in Prague after Ladislaus died, not knowing what was going to happen to him. Or struggling with Mihály for control of the government, or deciding he couldn't risk war with the Ottomans and had to imprison Vlad, or finding out just in time about any of the plots against him... I love terrible things happening to him and him coming back from them stronger, colder, more resilient <3
I'm also very interested though in more slice of life stuff: tell me about a day in the life of the roman military history nerd, the renaissance art superfan, the soldier, the diplomat, the propagandist, the guy who fell in love at first sight at a dance. When we open sign-ups, we recommend that you don't sign up unless you're confident you can write a story by the deadline. But after you've signed up, things may happen, and it's okay to withdraw, if that's what makes sense for you. See full information about defaulting at the FAQ.

To qualify for this exchange, a ship needs to be a f/f ship with less than 250 works on AO3, complete, written in English, and filtered using the otp:true filter.

Characters need to be either women (canon or genderbent) or genderqueer characters that you think would fit in a f/f exchange. So someone like LaFontaine from the Carmilla web series, who is canonically against being referred to/seen as a woman, would not be eligible. We're going to trust you to use your judgment on this one.

You can nominate up to 10 fandoms with 10 relationships ("/" only) each. We will not be accepting solo character nominations or relationships using "&".

Please stick to one ship per nomination. Multiple ships within one nomination, whether in the same fandom or crossover, will not be accepted (e.g. Lois Lane/Lana Lang & Chloe Sullivan/Tess Mercer (Smallville))

There's no need to disambiguate they are crossovers or you are nominating multiple versions of a ship in different canons. Outside the above exceptions, please try to use the canonical tag when possible.

Please specify which version of canon you would like rather than nominating under the 'all media' version of the tag, e.g. "Dragon Age (Video Games)" vs "Dragon Age (All Media)". Anyone who follows me on social media this year has unfortunately had to watch me descend into madness week after week as TBHX aired. To say this series has occupied my thoughts is the understatement of the century. I requested these four, but really I'd also be happy to get a gen ensemble piece featuring any of the nominated characters (of which there are so, so many).
I don't mind an unhappy or ambiguous ending for a fic set in this fandom. No need for a happy ending when there are so few in canon. Also, I don't care what version of the names you use for any of the characters. Whatever you’re comfortable with is fine by me.
As for these four, I give permission for any of the following character configurations: any of the four alone in a solo character examination piece, gen featuring any combination of the four requested characters, and then the ships Original Nice/Wreck, Original Nice/Yang Cheng, Dragon Boy/Yang Cheng, or Dragon Boy/Original Nice. We love a five-minute fandom, don't we? I periodically get obsessed with Tom Cardy's music and the possibilities therein, and him dragging Brian David Gilbert into the mix is only a plus. I'm really happy that the song's psychiatrist and patient found their destiny in each other, so any exploration of that would be fantastic, romantic or otherwise. Maybe the patient decides to go into psychiatry, too, to see if there are any other beautiful minds out there. Maybe the psychiatrist struggles with the knowledge that his soulmate is a patient and the moral and ethical quandaries that introduces. Maybe they go out into the world together to look for ways to travel through space and time, or they just find a bear learning how to water ski.

Name these two whatever you want, or leave them nameless. This can be based off of just the song, or the extended worldbuilding that the video introduces, such as things like the hero being Super European laborer sibling saving the Princess or finally opting to walk away from the game at the end of the song.
Something about the relentless pursuit of happiness, achieving it, and still never being fulfilled is a real punch to the gut, and Tom Cardy is really good at introducing deep topics and approaching them in the stupidest way possible. I'd like to see the hero and the bad guy come to some sort of agreement to coexist together as allies or friends or romantically because the song makes it clear that they're pretty wrapped up together. As the bad guy says, "Even if you did defeat me, what would you do then?" and clearly the hero trying everything under the sun doesn't really work to erase the high of conquering his enemy.

Sasaki and Miyano are my two favorite weirdos in love. I love that their slow burn actually led to something canonical, and I love how careful Miyano was as he considered Sasaki's confession, even though making him wait six months for an answer almost killed me. Bravern absolutely rewrote my brain when it came out. It gave me everything I've always wanted in a mecha anime, and several things I had no idea that I wanted.
For my fic's character interactions, I want Isami in it no matter what, and I also want some iteration of Lewis included, but I don't care if Lewis is Lewis or Bravern or both. Something like just Isami realizing while in Bravern that Bravern is also Lewis would be great, but I'm also fine with Isami/Bravern or Isami/Smith alone.
Isami and Smith had one of the best canonical love stories I've watched possibly ever, and that applies to Isami and Bravern as well, so I'd love a story where they make those feelings obvious and consummated. If you really just want to write about them fighting aliens or boxing or chilling with Lulu, that's all cool, too. Gen stories involving Lulu and Superbia or any of Isami and Smith's coworkers would also be fun as hell!

I just really love the romance and menace of Lucifer, and I love Xas and Aurora and the interesting reactions actual Satan himself brings out in them. I've loved this story of a very moral(ly rigid) teen and an evil alien who is the only person who listens to her for a very, very long time. I love that the spore alien feels weirdly parental towards Jessie early on, and that they end up bodysharing later... more twisted philosophical discussions, alien horror, and battles (or meetings) in the center of the mind would be just the thing.

When I first watched this short I was so sure the ending twist would be that Galina regretted betraying the biome to humanity and had gone over to Swarm willingly. I would love to read about the Sons of Dâr, after. After they all died and both the dead and the living believed they'd left their brother alone with his curses and oaths? After they were sung home and had to relearn life, and peace, and the company of others? After Tamsin walks back into their lives, somehow, wearing that same old cloak and tunic but no longer silent, no longer cursed? This book has so much buildup and the payoff that we get in text is lovely but very brief.
I am very into all of the Gender that Tamsin has going on, if that's something you want to lean into. Also totally fine if you want to leave him out completely! The elflands don't actually revolve around him and his musical talent.
Definitely prefer overall gen for this one, but shippy mentions are fine (canon or otherwise).
My preference is generally for characterization and setting that are pretty close to the text. Canon-divergent plot is all good. In terms of bad stuff happening on or off page: up to canon levels of violence/trauma unless otherwise noted.

I really enjoy when the fox girl with eyes painted on her eyes shows up, and I honestly don't care if there's ever a resolution on that or if she just keeps showing up and prognosticating in the background.
I really, really like how these are stories about stories. How different stories reveal or conceal, contain truth and fiction. That a story is never the whole picture. That context matters, and that sometimes the information you're given is just wrong.
Canon-typical violence, unreliable storytellers, horror themes, etc are all good with me.
My preference is generally for characterization and setting that are pretty close to the text. Canon-divergent plot is all good. In terms of bad stuff happening on or off page: up to canon levels of violence/trauma unless otherwise noted.

I just really like Ward. He's smart and thoughtful and kind, he knows what he wants, he cares for the people around him, and he is willing and able to receive care from them as well. Everybody here has huge amounts of damage and trauma, and they're still doing their best.
Ward & Oreg - I would be delighted to read Ward And Oreg Have A Nice Day And Nothing Bad Happens. Ward And Oreg: Roadtrip To Piss On Every Hurog Lord's Gravestone. Ward And Oreg Have Tea With A Dragon.
Ward & Garranon - Garranon is just a really decent guy. They are both decent, honorable guys who lived through awful things and have decided not to do that to the people around them. On the other hand, Garranon was part of putting Ward in another awful situation, although with limited agency himself - is there anything they need to hash out?
Ward & Tisala - Slice of life after they're married? Dealing with some kind of very mundane and handle-able problem? Slice of life in the lead-up to getting married?
Basically, I would like any or all of these people to Have A Nice Day. Sometimes, even when one is having a nice day, trauma rears its gnarly head, but I would prefer that it not be the central theme.

Prefer only canon relationships for this. I'm pretty neutral/meh on kidfic in general, but I think this is a fandom where it makes sense and could work well (either Ward and Tisala's kids or Ward's niblings. I will happily read it if that's the way inspiration takes you.

Aunt - she's lived a long life, there's lots to explore. What was she like as a young woman? When Katriona arrived in her care? When Kat was gone for six months attending the princess's name-day? When they started hearing the news that something went terribly wrong? She had some idea what was happening, but it still must have been awfully hard to wait for Kat to come home.
Katriona - She grows up and grows into her own power so much over the course of this book. Kat and Zel, now that her familiar has finally found her? How did Zel know about that long-ago promise to the fox who helped them? Kat missing Peony? Kat in the aftermath? Kat and Aunt, the two most powerful fairies in the Gig?
Peony - Peony and the Princess. Peony being the Princess. Peony and the Princess's family. Peony and the Princess's future subjects, on the grand tour back through the country and to her new home. I feel so bad for Peony, that she was never quite wanted by her family, that she volunteered to be the Princess for a few months and got stuck with being the Princess for the rest of her life. She will be a good Queen, but... does she want that?
Maybe Pernicia lost but took the Princess with her, leaving only the Princess's two waiting women. Maybe there's a way they can both stay in Foggy Bottom, even once they're breathing their own breath, casing their own shadows. Maybe Rosie goes with her to the palace and her new life - perhaps not forever, but for long enough that it's not a total severance. I kind of hate that Narl said to Katriona, "don't you want to keep her" and they both threw their power into it without Peony having any kind of say. Or maybe Peony and Rosie did talk about it, in the long quiet hours at the top of their tower. They don't know what will happen, maybe one or both of them will be dead on the first day of the Princess's 22nd year, so why not spin out the possibilities. Maybe Rosie knew that Peony would truly enjoy it, rather than just wanting to get out of it herself.
Rosie - Some years down the line being recognized, truly, by her parents? All of them needing to grapple with the events and choices that brought them here? Rosie unable to get out of being the Princess, learning to cope, allowing herself to be formed, a little, but also pushing back and making space for herself at the court? The royal family of her mother's country breeds sighthounds - there's no reason she can't be known for the quality of her stable.
Rosie & Peony / Rosie/Peony - I really like their friendship. I also think there's a lot of room for shippy feels here, requited or otherwise. They breathe together. They only cast one shadow. Rosie, bending down to wake her friend (a sleeping beauty) with true love's kiss. I can't even!

Request-specific DNW: I'm pretty meh on Rosie/Narl. McKinley has a thing for young women with much older men and I'm just not that into it. Please don't focus on this relationship. Narl's fine as a character but he's at least twice her age. Ych.
